About the Book

The Flame of Perception: Ending the Movement of Fragmentation

By Devesh Gupta

What if the crises humanity faces outwardly are inseparable from the fragmentation operating inwardly?

The Flame of Perception is an inquiry into the nature of thought, perception, conflict, relationship, and the self. Rather than approaching disorder only through systems, reforms, ideologies, or methods, the book asks a more fundamental question: can there be lasting transformation if the mind itself remains fragmented?

Across twenty chapters, the inquiry moves through the structure of thought, psychological time, communication, identity, fear, becoming, and the illusion of gradual change. It explores how fragmentation expresses itself not only in society and governance, but also in daily living, relationships, and perception itself.

The book does not offer a philosophy to follow, a spiritual method, or a framework for self-improvement. Instead, it invites direct observation into the movement of the self and asks whether the mind can perceive without division.

Beginning with the crisis of disorder in the world and within oneself, the exploration gradually moves toward deeper questions:

  • What is fragmentation?

  • Is the observer separate from what is observed?

  • Can the self end through effort or time?

  • What is understanding without accumulation?

  • Can there be action without motive?

  • What does it mean to live without psychological division?

The movement of the book unfolds through four major parts:

Part I — The Nature of Disorder & Perception

An exploration into fragmentation, thought, communication, and psychological time.

Part II — Fragmentation in Living

How fragmentation expresses itself in the body, habits, relationships, and daily life.

Part III — Ending of Fragmentation

An inquiry into the self, perception, and the possibility of ending psychological division.

Part IV — Living from Wholeness

Questions of relationship, freedom, responsibility, action, and the sacred beyond fragmentation.

At its core, The Flame of Perception asks whether human beings can live without the movement of psychological division that sustains conflict both inwardly and outwardly.

This is not a movement toward belief, ideology, or becoming. It is an invitation to observe.

Description

The Flame of Perception: Ending the Movement of Fragmentation is an inquiry into the nature of thought, perception, conflict, psychological time, and the self.
